Hello and welcome to another edition of your newsletter. A few months ago I received a phone call from my niece inviting us to her 18th birthday party. As in many parts of the world 18 has become the new transition age when we pass from childhood into adulthood.
This is one of those occasions when it is important for parts of the extended family to come together to celebrate and witness the ceremony of transition. So naturally we were delighted and willing to accept, also using this as a time to catch up and reconnect with other family members.
As often happens not long after this we were told of an important seminar (set for the same date) that we really wanted to attend. We were tempted to cancel our invitation to “party” in preference for business, especially as we would require taking time out and traveling some distance to attend.
And here is the reason for my telling you of this. How many times these days are we tempted to take the easiest and most expedient course, disregarding crucial character traits of honoring previous commitments and the value of family and relationships. Weighing it all up we decided to stick to our original course.
As I am writing this newsletter it is after the party. We had a great time and it was apparent that many family members were pleased we made the effort. But so were we, we didn’t miss an important occasion honoring our niece and indirectly all present and we will make sure we are available for the next seminar.
Also this took us out of town for a few days with a chance to stay in a beautiful resort on the beach. Here we have a chance to revitalize and re-create. Two other important activities we can all too often forget in the busy-ness of our lives.
Even though we live in and enjoy the country, a change of scenery does wonders. Especially being able to walk barefoot on the sand, and bask under the sun. We are taking this opportunity to re-ground ourselves and reconnect to Spirit, with meditative walks along the beach, to recharge physically, mentally and emotionally. Doing this in some form, is an important activity for all of us to undertake, as this will put us in a better place to be able to get on with the responsibilities we have undertaken in our business and professional life.

Card reading:
As mentioned above we are away from home at this time of writing and didn’t bring any Oracle Cards with us, so we were compelled to seek some out and buy them. We came upon Sonia Choquette’s latest offering “The Answer Is Simple”. We have both been fans of hers for some time and were charmed to add them to our collection.
As usual I took them between my hands and contemplated a message suitable for our whole community. From this brand new deck the card selected was: “Invest in Your Spirit.” A very suitable selection I thought! It reads as follows:

One friend’s story: Having determined that a part of his life wasn’t working right, especially in relationships, he determined to undertake the process.
He sat down in a quiet part of his yard and prayed for guidance and gave thanks in advance for whatever the outcome. He continued to sit in meditation and a vision came to him of a circle he was to prepare.
He was drawn to a local park were he gathered pine cones, and from his backyard, four house bricks were collected. Then he went to his shed and pulled out a tarp and an old abalone shell that had belonged to his grandfather. Read More

Do you often complain about modern life? Stating that it lacks something or other from earlier times and longing to return to those conditions or eras. But, in truth, we can never look to the past for better times, for we need to understand that what is happening now and what is coming next will always contain the best that life has to offer! Life is always best lived in the moment!
