The Throat chakra is located at the base of the neck and is related to communication, creativity, self expression, neck, shoulders, hearing and the thyroid. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound, representing language.
Its Sanskrit name is Vishuddha meaning purification and relates to the element ether.
Here are some ways to balance the Throat Chakra:-

Meditation for the Throat Chakra:
A Guided Meditation for balancing the throat chakra. You may either get someone to read this to you, or you may read it out and record it in your own voice. It is best read slowly, allowing for pauses where appropriate.
Close your eyes, breathing deeply and slowly, see yourself very relaxed.
Let all of your tensions go.
Count from five down to one as you become even more relaxed.
See yourself inside a blue mist.
Feel the blue all round you; it is a soft comforting blue.
Breathe the blue into your lungs, feel the blue go in through your nose down through your throat and into your lungs.
Feel it making you confident and relaxed.
Now see yourself saying all the things you need to say.
See yourself standing in front of people you need to talk to.
You have no fear; say what you need to say.
You now feel better.
Next time you want to say something, remember the blue mist, and remember the feeling of saying what you have to.
When you are ready open your eyes.
You may use this chakra balancing meditation whenever you feel the need for it, or as often as you like.
